OUR VISION

African Unity is no longer an option;

it is a necessity.

Our Founding Manifesto

The foundational agreements for African unity were signed on May 25, 1963, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was on this date that the Charter of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) was adopted by the heads of state of 32 independent African nations.

On July 9, 2002, in Durban, South Africa, the OAU was succeeded by the African Union (AU) with the aim of strengthening the continent's economic and political integration. I therefore noted with bitterness that the transition from the OAU to the current African Union took 39 years. Today, the African Union has been in existence for 24 years. Although it successfully fulfilled its mission regarding decolonization and the fight against apartheid, I believe that its track record concerning economic development and the resolution of internal armed conflicts remains disappointing.

Nowadays—despite the treaties signed and the official rhetoric—the reality on the ground is bitter: integration remains a mirage for the African citizen.

As the Founding President of African United Authority Watch, I established this organization to bridge the gap between diplomatic promises and daily reality. Our mission is clear: to move the African Union from theory to practice.

Our Action Strategy: The Integration Audit

African United Authority Watch goes beyond mere theoretical advocacy. We implement a rigorous monitoring system designed to transform African Union summits into concrete results:

**The Treaties Observatory:** We catalog every signed agreement (free movement, AfCFTA, Transport Protocol) and publish periodic reports on their effective implementation by each Member State.

**The Voice of the African Citizen:** We build a direct bridge between the people and the AU institutions. If a citizen is held up at a border—or if their freedom of movement is violated in contravention of regional agreements—our NGO intervenes to remind authorities of the primacy of treaties over arbitrary practices.

**Towards Shared Sovereignty:** Much like the European Union or the federal model of the United States, we advocate for the emergence of strong African institutions capable of enforcing a single currency and a common security policy.

**Africa: A New Global Power**

The ultimate goal of African United Authority Watch is to see Africa take flight. Unity is not a romantic slogan; it is an economic and geopolitical imperative for survival.

**A Market of 1.4 Billion People:** By dismantling border barriers, we unleash the creative and entrepreneurial genius of our youth.

**A Shared Identity:** The single African passport must become the symbol of our pride and our freedom of movement, guaranteeing every son and daughter of the continent the right to feel at home—from Dakar to Djibouti, and from Cairo to Cape Town.

**Our Struggle: The Imperative of Treaties**

We do not call for new agreements; we demand the strict implementation of those that already exist. Our NGO acts as a sentinel to ensure:

**Genuine Freedom of Movement:** That the single African passport and the lifting of border barriers are no longer mere proposals, but a tangible reality for every merchant, student, and traveler.

**Economic and Monetary Unity:** We advocate for the realization of a common currency and a single market—indispensable pillars enabling Africa to engage with other global powers on equal terms.

**Respect for Commitments:** We monitor the implementation of decisions made during AU summits. The signature of every Head of State binds the future of a continent; we ensure that this commitment is honored.

**Our Vision: The United States of Africa**

We believe in the potential of our continent. For Africa to truly take flight, it must draw inspiration from successful models such as the European Union or the United States of America.

**An Integrated Power:** An Africa where borders inherited from the past are no longer obstacles, but bridges.

**Transcontinental Justice:** Where human rights are protected by a unified and respected African authority.

African United Authority Watch Inc. is the instrument of this transformation. We work to ensure that African unity ceases to be a mere figure of speech and becomes, instead, the driving force behind our dignity and prosperity.

To live in a united, prosperous, and sovereign Africa.
